Mr Jones outlined to Bridget Phillipson MP the company’s plans for growth and the role it plays at Doxford International Business Park.

Commenting on the meeting, Bridget Phillipson MP said:

“I was really pleased to meet with Andrew from Computershare Loan Services to talk through the role they play as a major local employer in Houghton and Sunderland South.

“I’m keen to ensure local businesses and government can work together for the benefit of all my constituents, and in 2017 will continue to engage with Computershare and other local voices to help generate career and training opportunities across the region.”

Commenting on the Westminster meeting with Bridget Phillipson MP, Mr Jones said:

“It was great to meet Bridget to talk about how we can work together within the community around us and provide exciting careers to her constituents.

“We’re looking forward to continuing a conversation with Bridget so we can help promote business, create apprenticeships and develop other economic opportunities both locally and across the region.”

Doxford International Business Park was designated as an Enterprise Zone in 1990, and now is home to a range of businesses that in total employ around 8,000 people. In June 2016 Computershare took over the mortgage servicing operations from UK Asset Resolution, transferring over 800 employees between the two offices in Doxford.

Bridget Phillipson MP has long campaigned to improve the local public transport network connecting Doxford International Business Park to other parts of the region as a measure to boost local economy and increase local jobs.
