It was an honour to lay a wreath at the Remembrance Sunday service at Silksworth this year. One hundred years on since the beginning of the First World War, there was a very large turnout as we remembered those who gave their lives in the service of our country. It was encouraging to see so many children and young people paying their respects. My thoughts are with our servicemen and women, and also their families who make such a valuable and often unrecognised contribution.
