Bridget and Julie met with Principal and Chief Executive of Sunderland College Ellen Thinnesen and her senior management team, who showed them around the brand new college buildings.

Speaking after the visit, Bridget said:

"Thanks to Ellen and her team for finding the time to show us around today.

Sunderland College is a world class provider of school leaver, adult and higher education courses, as well as courses for international students, and a great asset for our city.

It was really useful to hear from Ellen about her team about the excellent work that the College is doing and the challenges they face in these times of political and economic uncertainty.

I am sure that the new facilities will help the College do even more for our community in the future."
