Houghton and Sunderland South MP, Bridget Phillipson has paid tribute to our nation’s armed forces on Armed Forces Day.

Bridget Phillipson MP said:

“Armed Forces Day is a time to remember the contribution our Forces, past and present, have made in keeping our country safe.

“I pay particular tribute to families across Wearside who have loved ones away from home and in service during this time.

“This day is not about celebrating conflict, but rather reflecting on the need for our armed services and to be thankful for their sacrifice which ensures the freedoms we enjoy today will be enjoyed by generations to come.”
