Bridget Phillipson Labour Member of Parliament for Houghton and Sunderland South
I’m holding the first in a series of business breakfasts to discuss issues and concerns that matter most to local businesses. This event will focus on the priorities of small and medium sized businesses in our area.
The Chair of the Business, Innovation and Skills Select Committee, Iain Wright MP will be our guest speaker. He will talk about the work of the Select Committee including the ongoing inquiry into the Northern Powerhouse and take part in our discussions.
I’d be keen to hear from you on issues such as skills, access to finance, market barriers, regional competitiveness, among many others, and how they affect your industry and your business in particular.
With the outcome of the recent referendum, there is much political and economic uncertainty. It is now more important than ever to have a strong voice for local business. I will do my part by listening closely to what you say and raising those issues in parliament.
If you are the owner, manager, or director of a small or medium sized business based in my constituency of Houghton and Sunderland South and would like to attend, you are welcome to email me at bridget.phillipson.mp@parliament.uk with your name, business name, full address, email address, and phone number to register. The event will begin at 8:45am and conclude at 11am. Don’t worry if you can’t stay for the whole event.
Subject to spaces, you will receive a confirmation email from my office with more information on the event. If you can’t make it to this event, please still get in touch so that your details can be included in my invite list for the next business breakfast.
If you have any questions in the meantime please get in touch.
