This afternoon, I had the pleasure of taking part in #TheTimeIsNow’s parliamentary lobby in Westminster, which called for immediate, decisive action to tackle the global imperative of climate change.

Organised by a coalition of world-leading campaigning organisations, including the Durham Wildlife Trust, it was fantastic to meet with many passionate activists from our area, discussing how we can best generate sustainable jobs in the north east, achieve net zero emissions by 2050, and champion bolder policies to protect our natural surroundings.

We’ll only ever have a single planet to inhabit, and now is the time to fight for the survival of our climate and wildlife, for future generations to cherish. Many thanks to all the participants, from across our region, who made the journey down.
