I recently invited the Rail Minister to our area to discuss reopening the Leamside Line. I’m glad he accepted this invite and today I’ve written to him to ensure this meeting takes place.

I hope that by coming to our area, he can see the potential that would be unleashed by investing in local transport. This is a test of government: we need to see action, not just platitudes, when it comes to transport funding in communities like ours.
