Bridget Phillipson MP attends public meeting on anti-social behaviour

Last night I held a public meeting on anti-social behaviour at Philadelphia Cricket Club. Too often, residents are left feeling vulnerable or unsafe in our community as a result of an upturn in anti-social behaviour and crime – this must stop.

The meeting was a gathering of local residents and community leaders: Sergeant Hudspeth from Northumbria Police, Gentoo’s Neighbourhood Enforcement Officer and the Operations Manager of Go North East.

The need to report crimes to the police was emphasised at the meeting – information is essential when trying to stamp out this behaviour. You can do so anonymously by calling 101, 999 or online.

Thank you to all who attended and to local police who are working under increasingly difficult circumstances. We speak with one voice when we say: this behaviour is not welcome in our community and we will do all we can to prevent it and root it out.
