There are just weeks to go before the Chancellor withdraws wage support for millions across the country – including 5,600 people here in Houghton and Sunderland South.

Today Labour offered the Tories a chance to avoid the furlough cliff-edge before it’s too late – yet they refused.

It’s clear the Chancellor’s stubbornness is holding our economy and our country back. Jobs, livelihoods, careers and futures are on the line as a result.
