Bridget Phillipson Labour Member of Parliament for Houghton and Sunderland South

Today, Sunderland was officially added to Public Health England’s watchlist for coronavirus support following the latest rise in Covid-19 cases.
Whilst there are no formal restrictions or additional local lockdown measures as part of this, we now face a critical period where we must all work together to stop the spread of the virus.
It is essential that everyone in need of a coronavirus test prepares by booking ahead. Failing to book before heading to a mobile testing unit can lead to results not being processed, or people being turned away without getting tested at all.
To do so, please visit https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test or call 119.
Testing and contact tracing will be key to the fight against the circumstances our community now finds itself in, and I will be working flat out to ensure that the Government deliver on their promise of a world-beating test, track and trace system to support residents at this challenging time.
