Bridget Phillipson MP discusses anti-social behaviour with Inspector Nick Gjorven

I know the fear and disruption the use of off-road motorcycles and quad bikes causes in our community. That’s why I’ve visited key hotspots in Hetton and Houghton with Inspector Nick Gjorven. Northumbria Police have taken robust action against riders, and seized vehicles – but they still need help to tackle this issue.

I’ll be working alongside our recently re-elected Police and Crime Commissioner, Kim McGuinness, to tackle anti-social behaviour head on. This includes targeting nuisance motorbikes and quads. Kim will be joining one of my community Zoom calls in the future, to hear from constituents.

As always, Northumbria Police encourage residents to report incidents with as much info as possible. If you see anybody riding in a dangerous manner or have information as to where bikes are being stored, please make sure to report this via the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of the Northumbria Police website or by calling 101.
