Bridget Phillipson Labour Member of Parliament for Houghton and Sunderland South

LNER have proposed a new train timetable for the East Coast Main Line which would see the removal of the direct, one-each-way Sunderland service from May 2022.
As Sunderland MPs, we met with LNER to express our views on the proposed changes – namely that they are plain wrong, unbalanced, and short-sighted, not least with the recent announcement of plans to redevelop Sunderland station.
Whilst we made our objections clear to LNER, I encourage constituents to also have your say through their consultation, available here: https://lner.citizenspace.com/.
