Bridget Phillipson Labour Member of Parliament for Houghton and Sunderland South

Today, I visited the Space4 food bank at Kepier Hall and met with Jade and Denise. The team do tremendous work to support those in need in our community, but it isn’t right that foodbank use has skyrocketed over the last decade.
Staff are increasingly worried with the Tory cut to Universal Credit set to hit half the working-age families with children in our area.
I’d like to express my gratitude to all the team at Space4.
The Government can help them, and thousands of local families, by reversing plans for this devastating cut.
