But high street businesses have faced huge adversity in the past year, leaving 9,200 businesses in our region at risk.

The next Labour government will scrap business rates. We will carry out the biggest overhaul of business taxation in a generation, so our businesses can lead the pack, not watch opportunities go elsewhere.

That’s why this week, we forced a vote to cut business rates, but the Tories once again refused to take action. Labour will back brilliant British businesses.
