It was great to visit Venerable Bede Academy recently and to meet with Headteacher David Airey and the School Council.

I was really impressed to see how engaged the students were with the big issues of our day, placing great focus on climate change and cutting crime.

I’d like to thank Mr Airey and the School Council for their warm welcome to Venerable Bede, and for letting me know their priorities as we do all we can to give our children and young people the best possible start in life.
