Bridget Phillipson Labour Member of Parliament for Houghton and Sunderland South
Thanks to everyone who came along to tonight’s anti-social behaviour meeting, including local councillors and Inspector Gjorven from Northumbria Police.
It’s always brilliant to speak with constituents, but disappointing to hear concerns about ongoing anti-social behaviour in our area. The only way we can see improvements is by working together, and tonight was a great example of our community doing so.
I agree with residents, we desperately need more neighbourhood policing. I took the opportunity to set out Labour’s plans to get more eyes, ears and boots on the ground in our community, and attendants were receptive to these proposals.
