Bridget Phillipson Labour Member of Parliament for Houghton and Sunderland South
For over a decade, the places that used to power our country have only got the crumbs from the table, and that includes Sunderland.
The Government have made big promises, but they are failing to deliver.
In order to build a new Britain, Labour will focus on the security, prosperity and respect people deserve.
That means changing the settlement of our country back in favour of those who built it. It means buying, making and selling more in Britain, and ensuring jobs and opportunities are spread fairly across the country so that young people in Sunderland don’t have to get out to get on.
The next Labour government will deliver for the places that built our country, with a plan for a new Britain that matches the ambitions of the people in it.
