Improving transport links in our area has been a priority for me as your Member of Parliament.

Despite setbacks, the latest being government ministers rowing back on intentions to visit the Leamside Line, there is a very strong case for its reopening.

The Leamside Line plays a key part of Transport North East’s Rail and Metro Strategy.

I encourage all residents to take part in the public consultation to demonstrate the wide public support for its reopening.
