Bridget Phillipson Labour Member of Parliament for Houghton and Sunderland South

Today, I’ve been to the Boundary Commission’s public hearing to make the case for keeping our constituency together.
Under the current proposals:
- Doxford would be placed in a constituency stretching to Hartlepool
- The Coalfields wards would be divided, cutting across community ties and shared history
- Houghton and Sunderland South would be split in three
- Sunderland would be separated across five constituencies
Whatever your politics, I hope you can join me in fighting for the best interests of our area.
