Bridget Phillipson goes doorknocking in Silksworth

Great to be out in Silksworth with Cllr Phil Tye. There’s under a week to go until polling day. Residents are working hard, paying more, but getting less. Prices and taxes are rising, but wages and pensions aren’t keeping up. The Conservatives are doing nothing to help people now. Instead, they’ve made it worse through 15 tax rises – their latest being felt in pay packets this week.

Labour’s plan to tackle the cost of living crisis puts money back in your pocket, cutting bills by up to £600 funded by a windfall levy on the excess profits of oil and gas companies.

Britain deserves better – it starts on your doorstep. Vote Labour on Thursday 5 May and send the Tories a message they can’t ignore.
