Bridget Phillipson Labour Member of Parliament for Houghton and Sunderland South

I recently visited East Herrington Primary Academy, Mill Hill Primary School and Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic School.
I had the opportunity to answer pupils’ questions on a range of topics, from the cost of living and local transport services to climate change, as well as to observe a mock parliamentary debate.
I also met lots of brilliant teachers and school staff who are doing all they can to support our children in these challenging times.
A Labour government will put children first and build an education system that allows every child to achieve and thrive.
