Over the weekend, I was on a flying visit to Australia to meet with colleagues from the Australian Labor government.

I met with Australia’s Minister for Education as well as the Minister for Early Childhood Education and Youth, to discuss how Labor’s childcare reforms are giving parents choices and every child the best start in life.

I had the opportunity to meet with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, to understand the lessons UK Labour can learn from Australian Labor’s success – focusing on the voters, putting childcare at the heart of a positive vision for change, and governing with purpose.

Under Keir Starmer’s leadership, Labour is ready to win and ready to govern.
