Bridget Phillipson Labour Member of Parliament for Houghton and Sunderland South

Great to catch-up with ShARP Shiney Row today.
The Project provides range of advice and support to local people, from helping with welfare difficulties to offering a warm space for socialising.
Listening to the experiences of those at ShARP, it’s clear that the cost of living crisis is by no means over. That’s why I’m calling on the government to bring in a proper one-off windfall tax on the energy giants at the upcoming Budget to invest in a package of support, protect working people from a major price spike and pass savings to families and pensioners immediately.
I’d like to thank the team for all they are doing to support our community at this difficult time.
