Bridget Phillipson Labour Member of Parliament for Houghton and Sunderland South

Today marks the 75th birthday of our NHS, founded by a Labour government in 1948.
The service has transformed lives and today marks an opportunity to thank the dedicated staff who continue to deliver lifesaving work.
I know just how deeply local people value our NHS. That’s why it’s so hard to watch the biggest crisis in its history unfold.
It will be left to the next Labour government to rescue the NHS, and renew the service to make it fit for the future.
