A Christmas message from Bridget that reads: "While for most of us, Christmas is a cherished time spent with our nearest and dearest, for others it can be a difficult period - for those who struggle to provide for their family; for those who are unwell and in pain; and those who end the year alone, having lost loved ones. Please always know that help is available. Sunderland City Council are on hand to provide assistance with energy costs, wellbeing support as well as housing advice. As we enter the New Year, I do want to offer a message of hope: that change is possible. As you local voice on the national stage, I am so proud to represent a community that is so strong, warm and caring - values that our area is known for across the country and values that are always on display come Christmastime. Let's pull together to support one another through a tough winter and deliver that change on the other side. As always at this time of year, my thoughts turn to those working throughout Christmas and the New Year - key workers, retail and hospitality workers, emergency services and armed service personnel serving abroad, far from their families. Thanks so much for all that you do.
