It was great to meet with Steve and John from Springboard at Hetton Lyons Country Park.
I can often be found in the park walking my dog Maisie and enjoying a coffee, so it was good to learn about their work providing training and opportunities for young people, while managing our beloved park and its events.
Great work like Springboard’s aligns with my mission to give young people growing up in our country the best start in life – just last week I announced plans to create 120,000 new training opportunities, provide more support for children with SEND and invest £470m to rebuild crumbling schools.
