21-02-2013 The Budget 2013Houghton and Sunderland South MP, Bridget Phillipson is asking constituents to take part in her alternative 2013 Budget survey. On 20th March, the Chancellor George Osborne will reveal his Budget for 2013-2014.

In an email to supporters, Bridget Phillipson MP said:

“I want to make sure our community gets the best possible deal by putting our needs to the Chancellor before he finalises his plans.

“Our unemployment levels have hardly moved and families are struggling with the rise in living costs and cuts to in-work benefits. We need a creative budget with incentives for job creation.

“I want to see small businesses supported and rewarded for creating jobs, and in line with the huge increase in people becoming self-employed I want to see more support for start ups. I still want a tax on bankers bonuses to pay for a youth employment programme.”
